Additional District and Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar, who previously handed down a three-year jail term to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, has been appointed as an officer on special duty (OSD) as of Friday.

This decision followed closely after Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) expressed his observation that the trial court's verdict in the Toshakhana case against the former prime minister was "incorrect".

The move to place Judge Humayun Dilawar on special duty marks a significant development in the aftermath of Imran Khan's conviction. The decision coincided with Chief Justice Aamer Farooq's remarks, which questioned the validity of the trial court's judgment in the Toshakhana case.

As per a notification released by the additional registrar of the Islamabad High Court, "The respected chief justice of this court has seen fit to carry out the subsequent transfer and assignment of Additional District and Sessions Judges (ADSJs) currently serving in the Islamabad Judicial Service, in the best interest of the public."
