Karachi (Web Desk) - The Sindh government has taken a major step towards ensuring the safety of citizens by announcing a joint operation against robbers in the slum area. The decision was made during a provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The Home Secretary and IG Sindh informed the participants about the ongoing operation against banditry in Kachi area.
During the meeting, IG Sindh highlighted the need for military-grade weapons for the police in Kuchiwari and recommended their purchase in the apex committee meeting. He also informed the cabinet that a budget of 2.7 billion rupees would be required for the procurement of the weapons, and that NOC would be obtained from the Ministry of Interior.
The Sindh Cabinet approved the purchase of the weapons by allocating funds for the same. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah emphasized that the operation would be a joint and pre-planned effort, with the IG Police leading the operation with its own plan.
This decision by the Sindh government is a significant step towards eliminating the criminal activities prevalent in the slum areas of Karachi. The provision of military-grade weapons to the police will not only ensure their safety but will also enable them to combat criminal elements more effectively.
