Usman Dar, a leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has denied allegations of corruption leveled against him by Javed Ali, who was claimed to be his private assistant (PA). Dar maintained that he has never misused public funds during his tenure as special assistant to the prime minister. He also accused the federal government of attempting to trap him with false allegations. Dar urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take notice of his case and requested that it be heard in open court in Sialkot. He claimed that PTI leaders are being unfairly targeted and put in jail by the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government.
During the same press conference, Javed Ali denied the confessional statement attributed to him, stating that he was not Dar's PA and did not receive any money from contractors. He alleged that he was abducted and tortured for two days, during which he was threatened with harm to his family. Ali claimed that he was forced to make false statements and that the statement was recorded after he was beaten and hung upside down.
In his alleged statement, Ali had claimed that he had served as Dar's PA for three months and collected millions of rupees as commission from contractors for four union councils of NA-67. He further claimed that he had given the money to Dar's brother, Ahmed Dar. Ali also alleged that Ahmed Dar offered him a government job and had helped him obtain a fake educational certificate.
Dar vehemently denied these allegations and accused the government of trying to discredit PTI and its leader Imran Khan. He urged for a fair trial and the opportunity to clear his name in court.
