Imran Khan: "The Country is Under a Strict Martial Law Similar to the Regimes of General Zia and Musharraf

Rawalpindi (Social Media Point News - September 24, 2024):
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan has asserted that the country is currently under a strict martial law similar to the regimes of General Zia and Musharraf. In an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, he stated that Pakistan has become a complete police state and that the current martial law is even harsher than that of Zia and Musharraf. He noted that during Musharraf's era, they were still able to hold rallies, but now the situation has drastically changed.

Khan highlighted that it has become clear that Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa is part of a "London Plan," accusing him of committing fraud against the nation. He stated that the decisions regarding reserved seats have revealed the biases of the Chief Election Commissioner, who he described as a "partial umpire" and claimed that Isa plays a similar role. Khan expressed that their every move indicates a conflict of interest, aiming for a two-thirds majority while seeking extensions for the umpires.

He further criticized Mohsin Naqvi, asserting that he has only engaged in fraud throughout his life, stating, "This Mohsin Naqvi cannot contest a union council election, yet he is running the country."

Khan also pointed out that Qazi Faez Isa has not heard their petitions from May 9 and February 8 and has reduced their seats by four. He mentioned that despite significant opposition, judges who stood in their way have been removed. He accused Isa of creating and then altering the procedural act to establish a dictatorship. Khan recalled that after Nawaz Sharif attacked the Supreme Court with sticks, it marked the biggest assault on the court to date, and announced plans for a protest on Thursday against these developments.
