Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has stated that there is a need for extensive negotiations on the issue of Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters at the National Press Club in Washington, Rahul Gandhi emphasized the need to improve the democratic process in Kashmir.
He criticized Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the politics of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), stating that Modi's government is fostering hatred in India.
Rahul Gandhi further remarked that Modi's style of governance has divided the people.
