Price control committees have been established in all districts of Sindh, following the instructions of Chief Secretary Dr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput. In a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office in Badin, Provincial Secretary Hadi Bakhsh Kalhoro emphasized the need to control inflation and regulate the prices of goods sold by traders. He directed the establishment of thrift markets, daily price lists, and complaint cells in prominent areas of the city, and instructed officials to take strict action against traders charging high prices.
Deputy Commissioner Badin, Agha Shahnawaz Khan, provided a briefing on the district's existing price control committees, which have already imposed fines of up to one million rupees on shopkeepers charging high rates. The district administration is actively monitoring all markets and addressing any complaints received through written or social media platforms.
As Ramadan approaches, meetings will be held at the taluk and district level with traders' organizations to ensure fair pricing of goods during the month. Assistant Commissioners of Kallor district and officers of related departments were also present at the meeting.
