During a high-level meeting, the Prime Minister gave district administrations and law enforcement agencies in the federation and provinces a free hand to take strict action against hoarders and profiteers. He also instructed them to conduct a clean-up operation in warehouses, shops, and neighborhoods before Ramadan, and deal strictly with those who charge higher prices during the holy month, especially from people who are facing financial difficulties.
The Prime Minister assigned the federal government the task of ensuring the supply of goods and keeping prices under control during Ramadan.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed that there is no shortage of food items, including wheat, in the country. However, he expressed anger at the authorities and questioned why chicken meat is still expensive.
