Thousands of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) supporters and locals from Badin district are gearing up for a massive rally in Hyderabad on October 18 to pay tribute to the martyrs of Karsaz, according to PPP leader Pir Amjad Ali Siddiqui. He emphasized that the party’s relentless sacrifices have been instrumental in restoring democracy in Pakistan.
The announcement came during a meeting of the PPP Badin chapter, chaired by Senior Vice President Pir Amjad Ali Siddiqui and attended by key figures like General Secretary Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Chandio, Taj Muhammad Mallah, Abdul Ghafoor Nizamani, and MPA Tanzeela Qambrani.
It was confirmed that PPP loyalists from across the district will depart for Hyderabad at 10 a.m. in a grand procession to honor the martyrs of the 2007 Karsaz attack. The event will be led by district officials and elected representatives.
Pir Amjad Ali Siddiqui and Dr. Sajjad Ahmad Chandio highlighted that the sacrifices of PPP in its struggle for democracy are unparalleled, reminding attendees of the historic October 18, 2007, rally in Karachi, where millions gathered to welcome Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. They noted that despite the tragic attack at Karsaz, which claimed over 300 lives and injured more than 600, the movement for democracy pressed on.
Under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, millions are expected to rally in Hyderabad on October 18, and thousands of PPP workers from Badin will be part of this monumental event.
Other prominent attendees included Abdul Ghafoor Memon, Muhammad Samoon, Niaz Lashari, Mir Kashif Talpur, Allah Dino Chandio, and Gul Muhammad Siriwal.
