Artist Safdar Ali Discovers Lost Painting in TV Drama After Seven Years
Renowned artist Safdar Ali, also known by his artistic name Safi Soomro, has revealed that a painting he was told had been lost has resurfaced in a popular television drama. Ali, who hails from the Ghotki district and is known for his exquisite painting skills, said he was devastated after spotting his missing artwork in a scene from the drama 'Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum.'
The painting, part of a series he created for his university thesis in 2016 while studying at the Department of Art and Design at Jamshoro University, was believed to have gone missing after it was taken by individuals in the Pacca area. According to Soomro, he was informed by these individuals over the phone that his paintings had not been sold and were eventually declared "lost."
Soomro explained that after a month of demanding the return of his paintings, he was told they could not be located. "I lost hope, thinking I would never get my paintings back," he said, noting that other artists had also reported their works had gone missing under similar circumstances.
For years, Safdar Ali took no action, believing that nothing could be done. However, seven years later, his painting unexpectedly appeared in the drama, where two characters, Adeel and Natasha, are seen standing in front of it during an exhibition scene.
Following this discovery, Ali and his friends raised the issue on social media, which has garnered widespread attention. Ali now hopes that the artwork, missing for nearly a decade, will finally be returned to him.
