According to AccuWeather, the day's weather forecast suggests a 58 per cent chance of showers at 3 pm local time. However, the outlook appears more favorable between 3 pm and 6 pm, with relatively clear conditions anticipated. Subsequently, rain is expected to make a return from 7 pm onwards, persisting until 11 pm.
The forecast further describes the day as having "a thick cloud cover and humidity with a couple of showers" in the daytime, with "considerable cloudiness, rain, and drizzle" predicted for the night.
Meanwhile, BBC Weather has forecasted "thundershowers and a gentle breeze" throughout the day. The highest likelihood of rain is expected around 3:30 pm, with an 80 per cent chance, gradually decreasing as the night progresses.
Cricket legend Wasim Akram, who is presently in Kandy, has reported that drizzling has already begun in the city, with overcast skies. However, he remains optimistic, stating in a video posted on social media platform X, "Later on in the afternoon, it is said the weather will be clear." Akram also extended his best wishes to both teams and reminded fans that "at the end of the day, it is just a match." He added, "Someone has to lose and someone has to win — just support your teams."
