Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) leader, Hina Parvez Butt, has taken a firm stance against the assault that occurred in London. Today, on Tuesday, she has initiated steps to address the matter by approaching the city's police and pressing charges against her harassers.
During a private family excursion in London, the former lawmaker encountered harassment from a group that is believed to be supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). These individuals taunted and heckled her, creating an unpleasant situation for Butt and her family.
The incident, captured on video, portrays the assaulters throwing a bottle and using offensive language towards Butt. This footage sparked strong condemnation on social media, with Twitter users expressing their outrage.
In light of the situation, the PML-N leader has opted to pursue legal recourse against the perpetrators involved in the incident. It is worth noting that Hina Parvez Butt was in the company of her son when the attack took place.
In a separate video capturing the incident, one of the individuals within the group can be seen carrying a PTI flag while verbally assaulting Butt. The distressing nature of the situation is evident, particularly as Butt's son appeared visibly upset.
On Monday, Butt took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice her reaction to the assault. She denounced the behavior of those associated with PTI and stated, "Rude and unruly PTI people have stooped to the extent of assaulting me in front of my son in London, throwing bottles at me and hurling foul abuse at me."
This incident sheds light on the broader issue of political rivalry and the impact it can have on individuals' personal lives, transcending geographical boundaries. Butt's decision to address the matter legally underscores the importance of standing against such unacceptable behavior.
