Islamabad: Tensions are rising within the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party just days after the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Reports from inside sources reveal that a recent meeting turned heated as party leaders exchanged accusations of being "traitors."

Sources indicate that the core committee, PTI's top decision-making body now led by Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi in Khan's absence, has split into two opposing groups. During the meeting, strong words were exchanged, with members of each faction labeling the other as traitors.

One contentious issue is the leaking of sensitive details and recordings from core committee meetings. Some members are now questioning the suitability of discussing important matters within this forum due to these leaks.

A senior PTI leader even hinted at revealing the name of the alleged traitor if permitted by Secretary General PTI Omar Ayub and Senator Shibli Faraz. A particularly dramatic moment occurred when one leader boldly stated that a traitor was present among them.

There are further allegations that Omar Ayub and Shah Mahmood Qureshi are engaged in a struggle to succeed as the PTI chairman.

In response, PTI leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has accused certain members within the core committee, as well as Imran Khan's legal team, of being traitors. He claims that sensitive information has been shared with external parties, putting his safety at risk. Marwat has taken precautions, revealing his chasers' identities to a group of lawyers for potential legal action if his situation worsens.

However, Omar Ayub dismissed these claims as "fabricated." He emphasized Imran Khan's continued leadership and downplayed any divisions within the party. Ayub asserted that decision-making remains collaborative and is being carried out according to Khan's established framework. He maintained high regard for Shah Mahmood Qureshi and denied any significant disagreements within the core committee.

Despite these internal disputes, PTI leaders remain steadfast in their unity and determination. Ayub confidently stated that the party will confront upcoming general elections as a cohesive force, relying on both divine support and public backing.
