NEW DELHI: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed in statements published on Friday that India seeks to establish harmonious ties with Pakistan, emphasizing that "the responsibility lies with Pakistan to undertake essential measures in this context."
Modi conveyed during an interview before his upcoming participation in the G7 summit in Japan that India aims for "cordial and cooperative relations," yet it is imperative for Islamabad to foster a favorable atmosphere devoid of "terrorism and animosities."
The relationship between India and Pakistan has remained stagnant since 2019, when New Delhi altered the status of Jammu and Kashmir region, terminated its special privileges, and transformed it into a federal territory.
