President Dr. Arif Alvi has announced April 30 as the date for the Punjab elections. The announcement comes after considering the dates proposed by the Election Commission of Pakistan, which had suggested April 30 to May 7 as possible election dates earlier today.
The Election Commission sent a letter to the President in light of the decision of the Supreme Court. The President is now prepared to perform his constitutional and legal duties following the election date, according to the Election Commission.
