Academics from Pakistan aur duniya ke mukhtalif mulkon ne Wednesday ke din is baat par zor diya ke English language teaching system mein urgent reforms ki zaroorat hai.
Experts ne kaha ke existing English curricula aksar colonial mindset ko reflect karte hain, is liye inhein decolonize karna bohat zaroori hai taake education zyada inclusive aur relevant ban sake.
Unhon ne recommend kiya ke English studies mein regional literatures ko shamil kiya jaye, taake students apni local culture aur identity se bhi connected reh saken.
Scholars ne mazeed kaha ke classrooms mein multilingual teaching practices ko promote karna chahiye, jahan students apni mother tongue aur regional languages ko bhi learning process mein use kar saken.
Academics ka kehna tha ke sirf traditional English teaching methods ab kaafi nahi rahe, balkeh critical pedagogy ko introduce karna hoga taake students sirf rote learning tak mehdood na rahen, balkeh analytical thinking develop kar saken.
Experts ne is baat par bhi stress diya ke Global South ke societies ke liye English education ko unke social, cultural aur intellectual realities ke sath align karna zaroori hai.
In reforms ka maqsad yeh hai ke education system ko more practical, inclusive aur culturally responsive banaya jaye, taake students global level par bhi compete kar saken aur apni local identity bhi maintain rakhen.
Scholars ne akhir mein kaha ke “decolonizing English studies is not just an academic choice, but a social and educational necessity for the Global South.”
