National Rural Support Programme (NRSP) is seeking a highly skilled Community-Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) Expert to lead disaster risk reduction initiatives across various communities in Pakistan. This role focuses on developing resilient strategies, conducting risk assessments, and empowering communities through capacity-building efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement CBDRM Strategies: Design and execute disaster risk management strategies tailored to local needs, aligned with national policies.
- Capacity Building and Training: Conduct workshops to enhance disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and emergency response skills in communities.
- Risk Assessment and Hazard Mapping: Lead assessments to identify hazards and vulnerabilities, developing action plans for disaster mitigation.
- Facilitate Early Warning Systems: Establish community-led early warning systems for effective communication and disaster alert coordination.
- Promote Disaster-Resilient Livelihoods: Support communities with resilient practices such as climate-smart agriculture and adaptive infrastructure.
- Monitor and Evaluate Programs: Develop frameworks to evaluate CBDRM activities and ensure continuous improvement.
- Strengthen Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships: Facilitate collaboration among communities, governments, and NGOs for coordinated disaster risk reduction.
