UN Coordinator Highlights Deprivation of Women's Rights in Pakistani Rural Areas

United Nations Resident Coordinator Julien Harneis says that women in Pakistani rural areas are deprived of property and land rights, and these areas face a scarcity of food for women.

A conference was held to raise legal awareness about the protection of women's property rights.

Speaking at the conference, United Nations Resident Coordinator Julien Harneis said that we need to make women aware of their property rights; if you are aware of your legal rights, you can raise your voice.

On the other hand, Lahore High Court lawyer Nasrat Hashmi also addressed the conference.

She mentioned that in one case, a woman received justice 42 years later, and the 2021 Act is designed for the protection of women's rights.

Demanding a part for women is a significant struggle: Neelofar Bakhtiar

Chairperson of the National Commission on the Status of Women, Neelofar Bakhtiar, during her address at the conference, said that our women are fighting against all kinds of situations.

She also stated that demanding a part in this unjust environment is a significant struggle, and the National Commission on Women will fight for the property rights of women and raise its voice.
