Two retired officers of the Pakistani military, Adil Farooq Raja and Haider Raza Mehdi, have been sentenced to imprisonment. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, both retired officers were sentenced through a Field General Court Martial.
As per the sentence, both officers have had their ranks stripped from November 21, 2023. It has been reported that Major (Retd) Adil Raja has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment.
According to the ISPR, Captain (Retd) Haider Raza Mehdi has been sentenced to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment.
The ISPR also stated that both retired officers faced a Field General Court Martial under the Pakistan Army Act.
