Position Objective:

The Nutrition Specialist will play a crucial role in providing technical guidance, knowledge management support, and analytical review of data for integrated nutrition assistance projects. This position aims to facilitate the achievement of concrete and sustainable results through the application of results-based management approaches, standards, and methodologies.

Relevant Experience:

Minimum 5 years of overall experience with at least 3 years in a relevant field within the development sector.

Job Description:

Mission 1: Technical Backstopping and Program Implementation

  • Review international and national guidelines and align program implementation with them.
  • Facilitate alignment of project implementation through feedback on strategies and engaging government departments.
  • Lead capacity building activities, organizing initiatives to enhance competencies of project-specific human resources and communities.
  • Support program monitoring through field visits and review/development of relevant tools, indicators, and MOVs.
  • Maintain the supply chain for treatment and outreach services in the project.
  • Provide support in recruitment and mentor field teams to ensure quality implementation.

Mission 2: Representation at Relevant Forums

  • Ensure representation of the UNICEF funded Integrated Nutrition Assistance Interventions Program on various forums.
  • Participate in discussions with project partners, clients, and stakeholders to promote nutrition and development issues.
  • Share minutes and action points through coordination between UNICEF, Government departments, partner organizations, and ACF.
  • Prepare and present updates/briefings of the program as required.

Mission 3: Facilitation of Project Team and Government Departments

  • Engage with representatives of UNICEF, partner organizations, and government departments to ensure a steady flow of information on technical matters.
  • Support in organizing workshops/dissemination events of UNICEF funded Integrated Nutrition Assistance Interventions Program.
  • Apply and support the rollout of innovative/practical approaches and good practices.
  • Review and analyze data, biweekly reports, and project reports as required.
  • Facilitate adherence to LoUs/MoUs and partnership documentations.

Mission 4: Compliance with ACF Policies

  • Ensure compliance with ACF's gender equality, child protection sensitivity, and safeguarding policies.
  • Implement all work-related activities with a gender, inclusion, and child protection lens.
  • Promote an inclusive office environment.

Specific Skills:

  • Degree in a relevant field of health and nutrition.
  • Minimum 5 years of overall experience with 3 years in a relevant field in the development sector.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English.
  • Nutrition-specific or public health qualification.
  • Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word and Excel required.
  • Excellent coordination, interpersonal, and team management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and handle stress and pressure.
