Islamabad's (MD) Army Chief, General Asim Munir, and Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, met with the business community. During the meeting, the Finance Minister briefed the traders about the IMF program, and the Army Chief discussed the economic situation with them. Ishaq Dar stated that the IMF's attitude had never been as strict in the past as it is now. He mentioned that China had understood this and immediately deposited funds for Pakistan. The Army Chief made it clear that the political leadership should solve its own problems. Imran Khan sent a message to meet with him, but as the Army Chief, he refused, saying that there was no logic in the meeting. He stated that the army would stay away from politics. The Army Chief conveyed a message to the business community that although there are problems, not everything is bad in Pakistan. Journalist Hamid Mir said that the Army Chief's apology is a long time coming because Imran Khan had stated a few days ago that the Army Chief was not ready to meet with him. Speaking of Imran Khan, there is a fight going on within the PML-N and the PPP, while there are also many internal conflicts within the PTI. Some people around Imran Khan want the fight with the establishment to continue, while others want reconciliation. Those who are seeking reconciliation are receiving support from the establishment. Nawaz stated that Imran Khan is popular, but it should be remembered that Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, and Nawaz Sharif were also popular, yet they faced various consequences. Nawaz Sharif was disqualified after making a statement on the road and is currently sitting in London. Most of the 76 cases against Imran Khan are weak, and he has to seek relief from the courts on that basis.
