Babar and Rizwan Kiwis' dreams dashed, Pakistan beat New Zealand to reach final


Sydney (Web Desk) In the first semi-final of the T20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by seven wickets and reached the final.



New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and decided to bat at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

In the first semi-final, New Zealand scored 152 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.


At the start of New Zealand's innings, Shaheen dismissed opener Finn Allen for 4 runs in the first over, while at the end of the power play, Shadab ran out Dion Conway on the last ball of the sixth over, forcing New Zealand to go on the backfoot.  .


Mohammad Nawaz guided the in-form Glenn Phillips to the pavilion, while skipper Williamson fell prey to Shaheen.



Daryl Mitchell scored 53 runs for New Zealand while Kane Williamson played an innings of 46 runs.

Pakistan's Shaheen Shah scored 22 runs in four overs with two wickets while Muhammad Nawaz got one wicket.



Chasing New Zealand's target of 153 runs, the openers of the national team showed a great game and the out-of-form Babar Azam finally laid the foundation for Pakistan's success by scoring a fifty in the important match of the event.  The innings was played out.


Muhammad Rizwan showed responsible play, Muhammad Rizwan scored 57 runs and became the second victim of the bolt, while Mohammad Haris scored 30 runs.

Shan Masood scored 3 runs and was not out.
